Discuss the conditions of use of the oil return circuit.
Situation///
Cases of failures in oil return applications of oil coolers have occurred all the time, so we will discuss them a little bit here. The main reason for the failure was-
Dynamic Peak Pressure.
Peak flow.
Back Pressure.
Solution///
OCS cooling system (Off-Line Cooling),the best way. But it is not the focus of this article.
Oil return process pressure relief kit.
Means→ Keep the oil return pipeline unblocked and eliminate the back pressure generated by the small diameter <bottleneck effect>. Enlarge the outer (inner) pipe diameter size, in the largest and most suitable way, to avoid cracking of the cooler.
Analyze///
Victim of failure - the cooler.
The internal heat exchange core has a very large cross-sectional area, but the outlet diameter is only 1/10 of the cross-sectional area.
As a result, cooler cracks occur frequently.
For Example///
Take COOLBIT AH1012-CA* for example:
A. The cross-sectional area of the core is about 4 inches of pipe---84cm2
B. Orifice PT 1", 1 inch 2.54 cm
C. The cross-sectional area of the piping hydraulic joint is about 5cm2 for 1 inch
If the cross-sectional area of the hydraulic joint of the piping is 3/4 inch, it is about 2.84 cm2
